    General Forum Instructions
    Wayward Empires

This is going to be a rather long topic. It will be filled with all of the basic information necessary for using this forum. Please read it carefully. If you have any questions, direct them at a staff member, and we will assist you as best we can. First, we will start with a general introduction to the world of Nation Sims....

    What is a Nationsim?
A nation sim is essentially a game. You play the role of a leader of a planet and the rest of their government. There are also spots open for people to play as organizations, but those are only reserved for advanced players.

As the leader of your nation, you control the budget, domestic issues, foreign policy, and the armed forces. It is recommended that you learn to work with all of these things, and not specialize with your military or domestic issues from the get-go.

    Why should I play?
Its very simple, it can be very fun. You can do lots of things. You can drive a small barely known planet into a galactic power. Maybe you have always wanted to feel like a Leader, if so, then sign up.

You can also chat out of character, and talk about real world events, music, sports, games, etc etc.

    How do I play?
Well, after you have been assigned a planet, you are the leader, and control just about everything that goes on with your planet, like raise taxes to fund the creation of a massive army to conquer the nearby systems with. But you must be careful, all of your actions have an effect on something. This is where the Avatars come in.

You send the avatars these actions through a the action submission system, and tell them what you want your planet to do, like raise taxes or start research on something. It is highly recommended that you make the actions as detailed as possible, for the more detail, the better the outcome could be. The avatar reads your action, then uses what he knows to figure out the consequences of the actions have on you, the leader, the nation, and the world. He then will post it in the news. There are different avatars for different things, Domestic Politics, International Politics, Economy, Military, Science.

There is also a Leaders Discussion forum, for the leaders from all around the galaxy to discuss issues that are affecting their empire, or the galaxy.

    Submitting Actions

Actions are sent in to the admins by PMing the ACTIONS account. To PM the account, click the Members button in the upper right corner of the site. Find the ACTIONS account, click on its name, a drop down menu should appear, and click Send a PM. This will send you to the PM screen.

Alternatively, click the PM button in the upper right, and type in the name ACTIONS into the Username box.

Once this is done, you may start writing your action.

    Action Title
The action title is anything unique that you wish to name it. Typically some players like to name their actions in the format of a piece of legislation or a bill that has been passed through your government. Some players just keep it very simple, and name it in a few short words. It's typically best to keep it within 3 to 5 words in length.

    Action Category
Most important is to put at the front of the title, the abbreviation for what category the action is going to. These will be listed below. This is a very important thing to pay attention to, as sending it to the wrong category could mean your action never gets processed, or a prolonged period of waiting for it to be processed. The available categories are:

    Domestic Politics [DPOL]
This category includes all actions that are domestic, eg, for your planet only. Actions that go as domestic politics can include tax changes, changes to the planetary health care system, building new houses, changing investments laws and so on. Domestic Politics includes both political and economical domestic actions. You also have the option to do your domestic politics action using the domestic politics LBC system. It is recommended that you use this system, especially for minor domestic politics actions.

    Interstellar Politics [IPOL]
Interstellar Politics is similar to domestic politics, but interstellar politics is for actions that concern your own nation and/or other nations. Actions that go as interstellar politics can include trade embargoes, sending diplomatic envoys, investing in other nations, sending foreign aid and so on. Interstellar Politics includes both political and economic interstellar actions.

    Military [MILI]
Military is everything that concerns your military. From downsizing your armed forces through getting rid of soldiers to invading foreign planets, everything is military. The exception is technological actions, such things as developing new military units or issuing your soldiers with different rifles. These fall under Technology.

    Intelligence [INTEL]
Intelligence is typically tied into your military somehow. Intelligence is everything intelligence, from spying on your enemies to checking your own embassies for bugs.

    Technology [TECH]
Technology involves any kind of research and development of new technologies, weapons, or domestic civic devices to advance your nation. This also includes actions that aim to arm your military with new weapons.

    Game Clock

The game will go 12 months, each day corresponding to a month. After the end of the year, 2 days will be set aside to process actions and do budgets for the new year. This will make the average game year take 2 weeks in real life.
